The big switch — information versus attention

April 5, 2013

Until just recently, the task for most people has been to gather information.  Information was the scarce resource.  It has now flipped on its head.  We are awash in data.  The challenge is to pay attention to the right things and know search (in the broadest sense) very, very well.   Can you image a world where “google glasses” (in a more cosmetically appealing form factor) are the norm?  Constant facts, suggestions and attention grabbers  will never leave us.  The truly rich will be disconnected — maybe?

This is my first post on this blog.  Comments are welcome.  You know the old saying “amateurs seek praise, professionals seek actionable criticism.”
